New Certificate Course on Menstrual health by DU

Indraprastha College for women has launched a new certificate program which is titled as “Empower Flow”. It is a certificate course for menstrual health & hygiene- Spotlight Red. This has been developed in the collaboration with UNESCO Regional Office for South Asia.

The course is mainly focused on menstrual health, hygiene and awareness while combining health education, social awareness and gender studies. The purpose of the course is to train students as well as engage them in informed discussions, awareness campaigns and community outreach.

People in many areas in developing countries like India still hesitate to talk about menstruation which causes the lack of awareness about it and ultimately results in leading to confusions & myths. The girls even miss their schools and many don’t get proper sanitary products or clean facilities. So, academically the course represents a shift where menstruation is not just a topic of health but also a proper formal interdisciplinary subject.

The University of Delhi is expected to begin undergraduate admissions in the third week of May 2026, after the entrance process. As the results of CUET-UG arrives then the student would have to register on DU’s CSAS portal, where they can select their preferred courses and colleges. Based on the CUET scores the seats will be allotted to students in multiple rounds, with possible upgrades depending on merit and availability.
